I'm very fond of his essay, "It Was on Fire When I Lay Down on It," and I'll be checking out From Beginning to End. My latest ritual is to read for half an hour first thing in the morning instead of putting it off 'til I have time--which sometimes doesn't happen. Thanks again, Juliepinenuthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03252375994501208670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9004341184414147555.post-79332265095546798622007-10-24T20:28:00.000-07:002007-10-24T20:28:00.000-07:00This book is now on my Amazon wish list. If you enjoy reading about the rituals of our lives, you may want to look up "From Beginning to End: The Rituals of Our Lives," by Robert Fulghum, a simple, yet informative and heartwarming take on the same subject.Jennifer Sardamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14924724423417856384noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9004341184414147555.post-6702751829680879132007-10-16T09:18:00.000-07:002007-10-16T09:18:00.000-07:00I haven't yet read The World Without Us, but I'm o...I haven't yet read The World Without Us, but I'm on the wait list for it at the library. I have heard him interviewed on the radio, and it sounds like a book that is right up my alley.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9004341184414147555.post-87990893779667729952007-10-16T06:14:00.000-07:002007-10-16T06:14:00.000-07:00Thanks for letting us know about Green Sangha, Bet...Thanks for letting us know about Green Sangha, Beth.

Your blog on plastic waste is fascinating. Have you read Alan Weisman's new book, The World Without Us? It talks about the many changes our world would experience if humans suddenly vanished, but Weisman's most startling realization was that 1,000 years after our disappearance, the earth would still be burdened with billions of tons of plastic waste.pinenuthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03252375994501208670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9004341184414147555.post-81314020129788926502007-10-15T01:00:00.000-07:002007-10-15T01:00:00.000-07:00Funny coincidences are always happening in my life...Funny coincidences are always happening in my life. A co-worker was just telling me about this book this past week... and we were crying together.

I found a group called Green Sangha which gives me the spiritual ritual I crave combined with environmental action. Green Sangha chapters can be started anywhere there are a few people with the desire to create peaceful change.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9004341184414147555.post-30594179678704907072007-10-08T04:25:00.000-07:002007-10-08T04:25:00.000-07:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
